Google is Issuing Plastic Cards

Have you seen customers paying for your product/service with cards containing the Google logo? The search engine giant is now issuing plastic debit cards. In an age where just about everyone in the media is saying we’re moving into a contatless society, (where smartphones are used instead of swiped plastic) Google is issuing traditional plastic cards. The debit cards are what they call an ‘alternative' to using a smartphone at the point of sale. Available only in the U.S., this Master Card branded card also provides ATM access.

Google has made a number of adjustments to its mobile wallet to address concerns from banks, merchants and consumers.

It is a little ironic to see the tech giant issuing plastic cards as an effort to move customers away from using plastic cards.
